Experience the Alaska we can take you to!
Fisherman's Deluxe Style Progran - Goodnews River Trips
With three decades of experience behind them, our "Deluxe Alaska Fishing Programs" are for those of you whose days of tent camping in little tents and sleeping on the ground are behind you. They feature amenities that ensure a safe and comfortable Alaska experience, and the fishing is pretty good, too!
The "accommodations" are like no other you will find anywhere on an Alaska float trip! Each of these tents houses two anglers and is spacious enough to provide ample space for your gear and a comfortable retreat should the weather become inclement. We equip these tents with chairs and comfortable cots, a welcome luxury after a day of fishing. Just toss on "your bag" and enjoy a good night's sleep. There is also a custom-built dining tent and screened area; both can hold the entire group for dining or as a gathering area. Tents on these trips are all made in Alaska for its extreme conditions.
Two anglers and their guide float the river in custom rafts. Each is equipped with custom frames with front and rear seating, allowing for an exceptional angling experience. The rafts, being less heavily loaded, are more maneuverable, allowing access to runs you might not otherwise be able to reach.
The Fisherman's Deluxe-style trips also feature an additional gear boat on which most camp gear gets carried, a 2-1 guest-to-guide ratio, and requires limited participation by opuir guests. Anglers can rotate guides daily, enabling everyone to fish with each staff member if desired. You have limited to no need for involvement with unloading the rafts, moving camp gear, and setting up taking down sleep tents, just fish and enjoy yourself.

Standard Style Progran - Goodnews River Trips
Similar To The Fisherman's Deluxe ~ But No Gear Boat
Where our Goodnews Standard trips differ from the Fisherman's Deluxe style, you have two anglers and their guide floating the river in custom-built rafts, each equipped with a custom frame with front and rear seating; however, they do not offer the additional gear boat to carry the camp gear. Instead, we utilize significantly larger rafts for two anglers, your guide, and all the gear to comply with USFWS regulations.
This program also upgrades your experience and comfort over our Intimate Rivers and Standard style programs. With three decades of experience behind them, and for those of you whose days of tent camping in little tents and sleeping on the ground are behind you, They feature amenities that ensure a safe and comfortable Alaska experience.

The Goodnews is a beautiful river in a remote corner of southwest Alaska, allowing you to experience nature at its best. It originates from the Ahklun Mountains and meanders through the Togiak National Refuge before flowing into the Bering Sea.
We currently access the Goodnews River through the hub city of Bethel, Alaska; from there, we board floatplanes and fly to the river's headwaters at Goodnews Lake. Spending seven to ten days camping along the river offers us the chance to experience the wilderness first-hand and enjoy the many recreational opportunities the river provides.
The river is approximately 60 miles long and has three forks, two of which we offer float trips on, that wind through some of Alaska's most pristine and untouched wilderness areas. The valley, through which the river flows, is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including brown bears, moose, caribou, and many bird species. The scenery along the river is breathtaking, with rugged mountains, alpine meadows, and dense forests providing a picturesque backdrop. The river's crystal-clear waters also make it a perfect spot for photography and other recreational activities.
Overall, the Goodnews River is a hidden gem in southwest Alaska that offers you a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and some of the best fishing available in Alaska!
